Scotty Cameron putters by year: which one to buy

Scotty Cameron is Titleist's putter brand, and the one most golfers research before they buy. Here is every line from 2018 to 2026, the ways in from a used older model to a new one, whether a Scotty holds its value, and how to buy one used without buying a fake.

By . Line facts from Titleist and Scotty Cameron's announcements and launch coverage, named on each line's page; today's prices and the value figures from the stores we list, updated daily.

The short answer

A new Scotty Cameron launched at $499 to $549 in 2025 and 2026 (Phantom, Studio Style, Phantom 11R OC). The cheapest way in is an older line bought used: blades like the Special Select (2020) and the 2018 Select launched at $399, and the 2019 to 2022 Phantom X mallets at $429. In our data, used Scottys keep more of their launch price than other brands' putters of the same age (see below), so buying a recent one used saves less than you might expect.

On Oct 26, 2026, used Scotty Cameron putters (right-handed, shipping included, any head in the line) started at $250.98 for the Select (2018), $224.99 for the Special Select (2020), $274.98 for the Phantom X (2022), $274.99 for the Super Select (2023), $304.99 for the Phantom (2024), $250.98 for the Studio Style (2025), $404.99 for the Phantom 11R OC (2025) and $404.99 for the Phantom (2026); none was in stock for the Phantom X (2019) and the Phantom X (2021), at the stores Used Club Finder tracks.

Scotty Cameron releases two kinds of line: blades and mid-mallets (the Select family and Studio Style: Newport, Fastback, Squareback and more) and mallets (Phantom X, then Phantom). The same head names come back in each generation. Newest first:

Which Scotty Cameron should you buy?

What is the cheapest way to get a Scotty Cameron?

A used blade from an older Select-type line. The Special Select (Jan 2020, $399 at launch) and the Select (Mar 2018, $399) carry the same Newport and Newport 2 head names as today's Studio Style, at a lower price. Check the photos for face and sole wear: an older putter has had more years of play.

On Oct 26, 2026, a used Scotty Cameron Special Select (2020) putter (right-handed, shipping included) started at $224.99 at the stores Used Club Finder tracks.

Which Scotty Cameron mallet should I buy?

The Phantom X lines (Phantom X (2019), Phantom X (2021) and Phantom X (2022), $429 at launch) are the lower-cost mallets; the Phantom (2024) ($449) replaced them, and the Phantom (2026) ($499) is current. The head numbers repeat but the specs don't always: by Titleist's figures the 2024 Phantom 5 is near face-balanced and the 2026 Phantom 5 has minimum toe flow, so compare the head you want on its line's page.

On Oct 26, 2026, a used Scotty Cameron Phantom (2024) putter (right-handed, shipping included) started at $304.99 at the stores Used Club Finder tracks.

Is the 2026 Phantom worth buying new?

New, the Phantom (2026) launched at $499 (the Phantom 5 OC at $549) and the Studio Style at $499 in 2025. Used ones list close to those prices, so if you want this year's head, compare the used price with the new price before you buy.

On Oct 26, 2026, a used Scotty Cameron Phantom (2026) putter (right-handed, shipping included) started at $404.99 at the stores Used Club Finder tracks.

Blade or mallet?

Face-balanced heads suit a straight stroke, heads with toe hang an arc. Each line's page gives every head's toe hang as Titleist publishes it. Blades (Newport, Newport 2) and mallets (Phantom) come in both: check the head, not just the shape.

Is a Scotty Cameron worth the money?

We can't tell you whether it's worth it to you, but we can show how well it keeps its price, which is what makes a new one cheaper to own than its price tag suggests:

On Oct 26, 2026, used Scotty Cameron putters in Very Good or better condition were listed at a median 100% of launch price for the Phantom (2026), 90% for the Studio Style (2025), 89% for the Phantom 11R OC (2025), 78% for the Phantom (2024), 70% for the Phantom X (2022), 74% for the Special Select (2020) and 69% for the Select (2018). Other brands' putters from the same model years were listed at a median 87% (2026, 7 models), 86% (2025, 12 models), 68% (2024, 14 models), 59% (2022, 9 models) and 62% (2020, 4 models). These are asking prices of used listings in stock at GlobalGolf, Next Round and Tour Edge, against each line's launch price.

Why are Scotty Cameron putters so expensive?

Titleist doesn't publish what goes into the price. What it and the golf press describe: heads milled from 303 stainless steel (the 2025 Studio Style adds a Studio Carbon Steel face insert and chain-link milling), a minimum advertised price Titleist sets for every store (MAP), and use on tour. Demand does the rest: used Scottys list close to their launch price. Sources: GOLF.com, Studio Style 2025, Scotty Cameron bio.

What is so special about Scotty Cameron putters?

Their maker and their record. Scotty Cameron designed putters for Ray Cook, Maxfli, Cleveland Classics, Founders and Mizuno before founding his own company with his wife Kathy; it partnered with Titleist in September 1994. Scotty Cameron says its putters have won more than 45 major championships. At the Farmers Insurance Open in February 2026, 45 players (31%) used one, the most of any brand that week. Black, women's and tour putters

Are there black Scotty Cameron putters?

Yes, as limited releases: the Special Select Jet Set (Aug 2022, $650, a misted Tour Black finish on Newport and Newport 2 heads), the B3 Triple Black Design LTD (July 2024, $750) and the Phantom Black (July 2025, $750: Phantom 5.5, 7, 9.2R and 11 in black PVD). They aren't separate lines on our pages. Sources: MyGolfSpy, Jet Set, GolfWRX, B3 Triple Black, GolfWRX, Phantom Black.

Does Scotty Cameron make women's putters?

Not as a separate model. Women play the standard heads in a shorter length: the 2026 Phantom comes in 33, 34 and 35 in as standard, and Titleist builds it from 32 to 37 in by half inches (its heavier head weights aren't offered under 34 in). In 2016 the Cameron & Crown line was built at 33 in, which Scotty Cameron said answered requests from men, women and juniors. Sources: Titleist, Phantom 9.2R, Scotty Cameron, Cameron & Crown.

What is a Circle T Scotty Cameron?

A tour putter. The circled T began as a mark Scotty Cameron drew on headcovers to tell putters bound for the PGA Tour from those for the LPGA, and some Circle T stamps are offered only on tour-only putters, which aren't sold in stores and can cost thousands (GOLF.com cites one at more than $8,000). Some retail models carry Circle T branding too, so read the listing. Tour-only and limited putters aren't in our catalogue. Source: GOLF.com, Circle T.

Buying a used Scotty Cameron (and Scotty Cameron putters on eBay)

Scotty Camerons are counterfeited, and a fake can carry a real serial number: Titleist's own staff wrote that counterfeiters copy legitimate serial numbers, so in the end you have to trust the seller. Their advice: compare with a genuine putter (any difference, even slight, points to a fake), be wary of a price that's too good to be true, avoid person-to-person payments, check the seller's record, and if in doubt, don't buy. Scotty Cameron's Custom Shop authenticates putters and issues a certificate ($75 in 2016). Sources: Titleist, real or fake, Titleist, counterfeits, Scotty Cameron, Custom Shop.
