PXG 0311 irons by generation
PXG has sold its 0311 irons in three heads across six generations since 2020. The looks change every time; the numbers mostly don't. Here's what changed, what didn't, and which irons can fill a gap in your set.

The short answer
The P has had the same lofts, lies and lengths from GEN4 to GEN8. A 7-iron is 30° in all five. The XP has been unchanged from GEN5 to GEN8 (27° 7-iron), and every T we've catalogued (GEN3, GEN5 and GEN8) shares one table. GEN6 and GEN7 had no T at all. The exception is GEN3: its P and XP lofts are 1° weaker on every club (31° and 28° 7-irons).
That matters when you're missing one iron. If your set is a GEN5 P, a used GEN4, GEN6 or GEN7 P iron, or a new GEN8, matches it on loft, lie and length. That's five generations of used clubs to choose from instead of one.
Which used PXG 0311 irons to buy
Which used PXG 0311 P is the best value?
From GEN4 to GEN8 the 0311 P has the same loft, lie and length on every club, so a used GEN4 or GEN5 P plays to the same numbers as a new GEN8. What changed each time is the face and the polymer behind it, and the launch price: $425 a club for GEN3, $349 for GEN4 and GEN5, then $219.99 for GEN6, $229.99 for GEN7 and $229 for GEN8. The XP is the same story from GEN5 on. Skip GEN3 if you're matching a newer set: its P and XP lofts are 1° weaker on every club.
On Oct 26, 2026, used PXG 0311 P iron sets (full sets, right-handed, shipping included) started at $354.99 for the GEN3, $389.99 for the GEN4, $394.99 for the GEN5, $502.99 for the GEN6 and $594.99 for the GEN7; none was in stock for the GEN8, at the stores Used Club Finder tracks.
On Oct 26, 2026, used PXG 0311 XP iron sets (full sets, right-handed, shipping included) started at $464.99 for the GEN3, $514.99 for the GEN5, $564.99 for the GEN6 and $634.99 for the GEN7; none was in stock for the GEN8, at the stores Used Club Finder tracks.
What should I check before buying a used PXG 0311 set?
The head and generation on the hosel (see below), then the shaft, flex and length, because PXG builds every set to order. PXG's fitters also set the weights in the head, and PXG called them tamper-proof once fitted on GEN4 and GEN5, so a used set keeps the swing weight it was built to. Black sets (Black Label Elite on GEN5 and GEN6, Xtreme Dark on GEN7 and GEN8) cost more new than chrome.

The three heads
0311 P is PXG's players-distance iron. 0311 XP is the game-improvement version, with lofts about 3° stronger than the P and every club half an inch longer. 0311 T is the players head, with lofts about 2° weaker than the P. They are different heads, not different finishes, so an XP iron will not match a P set.
Each generation
PXG 0311 GEN3 (2020)
PXG released GEN3 on January 9, 2020, at $425 a club, in T, P and XP heads; the XP replaced the XF as the game-improvement model. Behind a 1.5 mm HT1770 maraging steel face sat a new two-layer filler, DualCOR, in a five-times-forged 8620 body, with tungsten weights setting the swing weight. Its P and XP lofts are 1° weaker than every later generation (31° and 28° 7-irons), so GEN3 irons don't match a newer P or XP set. Sources: MyGolfSpy, GEN3, GolfWRX, GEN3.
PXG 0311 GEN4 (2021)
GEN4 went on pre-sale on March 9, 2021, at $349 a club, 18% less than GEN3. PXG swapped DualCOR for an injected polymer, XCOR, which it said gave the face more spring, and cut the weight ports from nine to five around a central weight that a fitter sets. The P got the lofts it has kept ever since (a 30° 7-iron). Sources: MyGolfSpy, GEN4, Golf Digest, GEN4.
PXG 0311 GEN5 (2022)
GEN5 went on sale in April 2022 at $349 a club in chrome and $449 in Black Label Elite (a black finish). It has a lighter filler, XCOR2, a new Power Channel behind the face, and heel and toe tungsten for about 5% more MOI than GEN4. P and XP lofts and lengths didn't change. It was the last generation with a T until GEN8. Source: MyGolfSpy, GEN5.
PXG 0311 GEN6 (2023)
GEN6 went on sale on March 23, 2023, at $219.99 a club in chrome and $289.99 in Black Label Elite, in P and XP only. The face is 15% thinner, and the weight saved went low and back in the head; XCOR2 carried over. Lofts and lengths are the same as GEN5. Sources: PXG's GEN6 release, MyGolfSpy, GEN6.
PXG 0311 GEN7 (2024)
GEN7 was released on August 7, 2024, at $229.99 a club in chrome and $239.99 in Xtreme Dark, again in P and XP only. It brought a new polymer, QuantumCOR, a titanium piece around the back weight and 20 g of tungsten hidden in the toe. MyGolfSpy calls it the first GEN iron without PXG's visible screws on the back, which helps tell it apart in photos. Lofts and lengths are unchanged. Sources: PXG's GEN7 release, MyGolfSpy, GEN7.
PXG 0311 GEN8 (2026)
PXG announced GEN8 on January 15, 2026, at $229 a club in chrome and $249 in Xtreme Dark, and the T came back. It has Dual Perimeter Weighting (two rear weights a fitter can swap), a face that flexes deeper into the QuantumCOR, and 15 to 25 g of toe tungsten depending on the head. The P and XP keep the GEN6 and GEN7 specs, and the T matches the GEN3 and GEN5 T. Sources: GolfWRX, GEN8, Today's Golfer, GEN8.

Telling generations apart
PXG stamps the head and generation on the hosel: “0311 P GEN6”, “0311 XP GEN8”. Check it in the listing photos before you buy, and don't rely on the description alone. We have seen a PXG product description for an XP iron that describes the P. PXG labels its wedges W, G, S and L (pitching, gap, sand and lob).
Finish names help too: GEN6 was sold in Double Chrome and Double Black, and GEN8 in Chrome and Xtreme Dark.
Buying a single PXG iron
PXG sells its current irons new one at a time, built to order in your choice of shaft and flex. Used single irons are cheaper but come in whatever specs the last owner chose, so check the shaft, flex and length against your set. See how to identify your iron set and shaft flex explained.
What we haven't catalogued
We leave a set out rather than guess. The XP GEN4 is missing because sources disagree on its lofts (27° or 28° 7-iron). The T GEN4 is missing because we haven't found a complete spec table. GEN1 and GEN2 aren't covered yet. If you have a PXG spec sheet for any of them, send it to us (hello@usedclubfinder.com).
PXG's drivers are on the drivers page.
