How fast golf clubs lose value
Used prices against launch prices, by club type and model year, for every model in our catalogue with a launch price on record and enough used clubs in stock. Recomputed every day from the stores we track.
By Julien Levadoux. Prices checked Oct 26, 2026. Launch prices from our catalogue; each model page names its source.
The short answer
On Oct 26, 2026, used drivers from 2025 were listed at a median 57% of their launch price in graded used listings at GlobalGolf, Next Round and Tour Edge, and drivers from 2023 at 43%. Other clubs from 2025 and 2023: fairway woods 66% and 54%; hybrids 71% and 43%; iron sets 81% and 62%; wedges 70% and 53%; putters 86% and 68%. Among models from 2023, putters held their value best and hybrids sat furthest below their launch price.
By club type and model year
Each panel: the median used price as a share of launch price, by model year (left: 2026; right: 2019 or older). A point needs at least 5 models; the table has every number. 2026 models have been out for months, not a year: their share is what a nearly new club lists for.

Data for journalists
Any number on this page can be quoted with credit to Used Club Finder and the date. For a number we don't publish (one model at one grade, the spread between stores, used against new for a model), email hello@usedclubfinder.com: Julien Levadoux, who runs the site, answers with the figure, its sample size and the date. Asking prices at graded US stores, not completed sales.
How we measure it
We call this measure the Used Club Finder Value Index (the Value Index for short): the same numbers, by club type and model year, open each month's Used Club Finder Market Report.
- Stores: GlobalGolf, Next Round and Tour Edge. Only stores that grade each club count; a store that lets you choose the grade at checkout (Callaway Pre-Owned) can't be compared, so it's left out.
- Used price: for each model, the median price of its used listings in stock that the store grades Very Good or better, right-handed (or hand not stated), a men's build, seen in the last three days. The item price, without shipping, because launch prices don't include it.
- Launch price: the maker's price at launch from our catalogue, per club. For iron sets, the used set price is divided by its number of clubs (sets from a 3-, 4-, 5- or 6-iron to a wedge) and compared with the per-club launch price in steel; graphite sets, sets without a stated shaft and sets listed with extra clubs are left out. So are special editions (a “Black” version of a standard model), which launch at a higher price.
- Share: the used median divided by the launch price. Each table cell is the median share of its models; a model needs at least three listings and a cell at least five models.
- Model year: the year the model was released, from our catalogue. This year's models have been out for months, not years.
- Every day: the numbers are recomputed each night, so they move with stock and prices. The date above is the day they describe.
What this doesn't tell you
- These are store asking prices, not what clubs finally sold for.
- Launch prices are for the stock build. A used club with a premium shaft, grip or head option, or a limited edition, can list above its launch price; those models are listed separately under the rankings and flagged in the data.
- A brand's figure depends on what the stores above have in stock of that brand, which for some brands is a small sample.
- Prices are in dollars of the day, not adjusted for inflation: an older model's launch price was set in cheaper dollars.
- Only models with a launch price in our catalogue count, at the established golf stores we track; marketplaces and private sales aren't included.
- Condition grades are each store's own (see condition grades); women's builds and left-handed clubs are left out.
